Message from the Philippines

Subject:
How to increase  educational interchange and collaboration between Korea and the Philippines through online cooperative project - a case, Occupation Quest.

Dear ICT Leaders, Coordinators and students:

The use of Information and communication technology (ICT) in education is a powerful catalyst in improving  teaching and learning styles for all. When used appropriately and with proper instructional design, the use of computers and the internet will surely facilitate the learning process of students. The internet provides teachers and students access to a wide variety of information, which could help them solve real world problems. They can design internet enhanced activities or projects that integrate learning, learning competencies across several subject areas, facilitate collaborative learning, and encourage students to explore and learn from the community outside the school.

We would like to tell the world that Eulogio Rodriguez Jr. High School, together with the ICT Coordinators, students and the school Principal-ICT Leader is very proud to have an active and real
telecollaboration with South Korean ICT teachers and students through the pro-active Jinnam Girls Middle School.

Cooperative learning in the web was developed between the two Asian Countries, who are both members 1 of APEC Cyber Education. Both secondary schools create sustainableeducation development by changing resources, practices and programs together in partnership with educational and government leaders.

Through occupation quest, students from thousands of miles learn to knwo each other desires, values, necessities and occupation needs towards a successful future.

To increase educational interchange and collaboration between our countries, the Philippines and Korea, each member should share a weekly findings on the most needed job or occupation in KOrea and our country, and how each sister school could help find job for the ICT members in the future.

Telecollaboration should be done continously, probably by teaching each others language using pictures and simple greetings in Korean language, english and filipino language. Each students must be able to memorize 10 words in a week and create a sentence using the three languages so that when each country will visits one another in the future, language will not be a barrier for each participants.

In the near future, we suggest a video conference between ICT teachers and students to create better bonding closer sisterhood. Any member could discuss any topic they want to share and the members could react or may ask questions. This can be done twice a month maybe.

Hurray! to the Jinnam Girls Middle School and Eulogio Rodriguez Jr. High School!
Our sisterhood will stay and will last as long as internet is available and as long as each sister school continous its support and friendship on the web.
Regards from all of us,
